(NC)—Canadian stars came out in full force to help combat childhood obesity through a series of PSAs, which are airing across Canada in support of the At My Best (www.atmybest.ca) children's wellness program.
The school-based initiative created by AstraZeneca Canada and Physical and Health Education Canada teaches kindergarten to grade three students about the importance of physical activity, proper nutrition and emotional wellbeing.
Participating names include Sony Music Canada recording artist and Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila, actress and Corner Gas star Tara Spencer-Nairn, The Hour host George Stroumboulopolous, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Vernon Wells, Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Botterill, social activist and Canadian Idol judge Farley Flex, CityLine host Tracy Moore, Sarah's House host Sarah Richardson and many more.
With one in four Canadian children considered to be overweight or obese, star power can give kids (and parents) the extra little motivation to make healthier choices.
