Policosanol

Policosanol is an extract from the wax of sugar cane and is indicated as an adjunct to dietary, lifestyle and pharmaceutical cholesterol management.

Policosanol is the most thoroughly researched natural cholesterol-lowering agent. Over 30,000 patients have been involved in clinical trials. More than 20 double blind trials have been done. Policosanol has compared favorably to several cholesterol drugs in direct head to head trials.

Policosanol has been shown to:
Lower LDL "BAD cholesterol"
Raise HDL "GOOD cholesterol"
Lower Lpa Which is a very potent form of LDL

Policosanol does not block the HMG CaA Enzyme as the statin drugs do.
In addition to cholesterol this enzyme is also needed for CoQ10 synthesis.
Instead Policosanol improves the feedback signal to liver cells so they are less likely to overproduce cholesterol.

Traditionally Policosanol has been used to enhance Sports Performance and Libide.
Safety: Policosanol has an exemplary safety profile and can even be used in patients with existing liver conditions.

Dosage: 2 to 4 tablets before bedtime as most cholesterol is produced at night
