Question:
Bromelain vs. Baby Aspirin
11/29/02
Question:
This
question is in response to the artilce Bromelain.
When you say "take one 500-mil tablet daily for
cardivasular" - are you saying
take one 500-mil tablet each day INSTEAD OF THE BABY
ASPIRIN? (to prevent arteries from getting clogged up?)
We think Bromelain would be much better and more effective
than the baby
aspirin.
Answer:
Thank-you
for bringing this question to our attention.
The information on bromelain and cardiovascular health
came through an article on bromelain and its many properties.
In this article, according to Dr's in Germany and California,
that have used bromelain in the treatment of angina,
it was found to be very helpful in their patients
However, the staff at Uptown Health would like to make
it clear that studies, articles or information from
any source, is never intended to replace the advice
of your health care professional. Please always look
to the advice of your many skilled health care professionals
including Dr.'s, Naturopaths, specialists & pharmacists,
to name a few.
So, in answer to your question, do not replace the advice
of your Dr.'s which is why I'm assuming you're taking
the baby aspirin. Contact a health care professional
regarding adding bromelain to your diet or discontinuing
the use of baby aspirin.

Question
2:
Hi, again!
We already know about the article on baby asprin vs.
Bromelain. We just want to know HOW MANY do you take
a day IF your doctor says it's okay to sub the baby
asprin with Bromelain instead.
We are not under doctors' advice to take anything. We
have no other meds and are both in perfect health!
Please just tell us HOW MANY and when and what strength
may we take with doctor's approval each day for Cardio-V
health?
They are at local retail outlets, but until we find
out what strength, when and how many - we don't know
what to buy!
Thanks again!
Answer
2:
Although
your overall health is fine, you are on two types of
medication. If we were to inform you of dosages for
symptoms, we would be prescribing, which would be illegal
for us to do, as we are not qualified health care professionals.
As
I've previously stated, you would be able to get specific
information from a qualified health practioner that
is familiar with natural therapy as well as traditional
medicine.
However,
I can inform you of the general use of bromelain as
directed on the bottle. For example: Prairie naturals
Product Bromelain - 500mg, Papaya - 50mg
Suggested
use: 1 or more capsule at mealtime or as directed by
a health professional.
I
will send your question to someone who may be of more
assistance.
thank-you
